FI Group of Institutes is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all its students. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging in any form. Ragging is a criminal offense and is strictly prohibited on campus and in any related academic or residential facilities. Our institution takes all necessary measures to prevent ragging and to ensure the well-being of every student.
We take the issue of ragging very seriously and have implemented a strict Anti-Ragging Policy in line with the regulations set by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Supreme Court of India. To further this commitment, all students (new and continuing) are required to submit an Anti-Ragging Undertaking before they are permitted to attend classes or reside in the campus hostels.
Ragging refers to any act of physical or mental abuse, harassment, or humiliation that a student may face from other students. It involves activities that create a hostile or intimidating environment for the victim and may include bullying, forced consumption of substances, or any other actions that distress or harm the individual.
Some common forms of ragging include:
Verbal or physical abuse
Forced consumption of alcohol, drugs, or other substances
Humiliating or demeaning behavior
Harassment, both physical and mental
Any other behavior that causes harm or discomfort to students
Ragging not only violates the ethical standards of our institution but is also illegal under Indian law, which mandates severe penalties for offenders.
As a part of our commitment to eliminating ragging, every student is required to submit an Anti-Ragging Undertaking. This document is a legal declaration where students and their guardians affirm their understanding of the consequences of ragging and agree to uphold the institution’s policies and regulations.
By submitting the undertaking, the student and their guardian pledge to:
Refrain from Ragging: Agree to not participate in or tolerate any form of ragging, either as a perpetrator or as a witness.
Report Incidents of Ragging: Students must immediately report any instances of ragging to the authorities or campus officials. This includes sharing information about any incidents they may have witnessed.
Adhere to Institution’s Code of Conduct: The student agrees to abide by the institution’s code of conduct, which prohibits any kind of harassment, bullying, or intimidation.
Acknowledgement of Legal Action: Acknowledge that ragging is a punishable offense under the law, and that any student found guilty of ragging will face strict disciplinary action, including possible suspension or expulsion from the institution.
Disciplinary Measures: Understanding that if found guilty of ragging, the student and their associates will face legal consequences as per the relevant anti-ragging laws and the institution’s rules.
Online Submission: Students and their parents/guardians can submit the Anti-Ragging Undertaking online through the official website of the institution.
Step 1: Visit the “Anti-Ragging Undertaking” section of the website.
Step 2: Fill in the required details, including student information and guardian’s details.
Step 3: Review the undertaking and submit it electronically.
Physical Submission: Alternatively, the Anti-Ragging Undertaking can be printed, signed by both the student and their guardian, and submitted to the Admissions Office or the Student Affairs Office at the time of enrollment or admission.
To ensure prompt action against ragging, the institution has set up dedicated helplines where students can report any incidents of ragging anonymously. The helplines are monitored 24/7 by campus authorities who will take immediate action.
